Membership Agreement and Code of Conduct

1. Introduction

This Membership Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between the undersigned individual (the “Member”) and CiPRESS (Chronic Infection Pathology Related Education and Science Society) (“the Society”). By signing below, the Member agrees to abide by the terms and conditions set forth herein, including the attached Code of Conduct, and to uphold the Society’s Mission and values.

2. Definitions

“Society” refers to CiPRESS, its officers, committees, representatives, and any authorized affiliates acting on behalf of CiPRESS.

“Member” refers to the individual signing this Agreement, indicating their acceptance of CiPRESS’s terms and Code of Conduct.

3. Purpose and Mission

The Society is dedicated to advancing the understanding, prevention, and treatment of chronic infectious illnesses by fostering collaboration among scientists, clinicians, and patients. The Society’s mission statements emphasize interdisciplinary research, patient empowerment, cutting-edge clinical practices, and global advocacy.

4. Membership Benefits

Depending on the Member’s category (Patient, Healthcare Provider, or Scientist), the Society offers various benefits, such as:

  • Access to specialized educational resources.

  • Networking and collaboration opportunities.

  • Participation in workshops, seminars, and conferences.

  • Access to advocacy tools and clinical trial information.

5. Code of Conduct

Event Conduct and Safety

  • Adhere to event-specific guidelines set forth by CiPRESS or partnering organizations.

  • Respect the physical and emotional well-being of attendees, ensuring inclusive participation for all.

Compliance and Accountability

  • Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.

  • Promptly report concerns or potential violations of this Code of Conduct to the CiPRESS leadership.

  • Understand that violations may result in disciplinary measures, including termination of membership.

6. Term and Termination

6.1. Term.

Membership shall commence upon the Society’s acceptance of the Member’s application and the Member’s agreement to this contract. Membership shall continue until terminated by either party as outlined below.

6.2. Termination.

CiPRESS may suspend or revoke membership for violation of the Code of Conduct, non-payment of dues (if applicable), or any other material breach of this Agreement. The Member may terminate membership at any time by providing written notice to the Society.

7. Fees and Dues

The Member agrees to pay any applicable membership fees or dues as established by CiPRESS. These fees are subject to change with prior notice. Failure to pay fees may result in suspension or termination of membership privileges.

8. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

  • CiPRESS is a professional society and does not provide individual medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations.

  • Members are solely responsible for any actions taken or decisions made based on information obtained through CiPRESS.

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, CiPRESS disclaims any liability for personal or professional loss, damages, or liabilities arising from participation in or reliance upon Society resources.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, materials, and resources provided by CiPRESS are protected by intellectual property laws. Members agree not to reproduce, distribute, or otherwise misuse these materials without express written consent from CiPRESS.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
